I attended Gentry Public Schools in Northwest Arkansas for my entire undergrad education. I went on to John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas for my BA in Early Childood Education with an emphasis on TESOL, as well as my MA.
From 2013 to present I have taught third grade at Grove Lower Elementary School.
I taught English as a Second Language at J.O. Kelly Middle School in Springdale, Arkansas for 5 years prior to moving to Grove, Oklahoma in 2013.
On the Summer Solstice of 2014, Brent Biely and I hiked out to one of our favorite places in the Ozark Mountains and were married there. His son, Summer, attends school here at Grove High School where he enjoys playing flute for the Ridgerunner band and all things outdoors, especially mountain biking. Together we frequent the backwoods of the Ozarks; hiking, caving, backpacking, floating, and ever enjoying our nature adventures.
I met my husband and stepson years ago on one of my very first cave trips in Arkansas. We continue to adventure together in the outdoors of the Ozarks, as well as state parks across the country. Some of our favorite activities include hiking, backpacking, caving, canoeing/kayaking, swimming in Grand Lake, and generally just being in nature. I love to teach about nature and conservation in my classroom, as well as give students the opportunity to take care of our natural resources of the Grand Lake region together through class projects. I absolutely love teaching every subject, but my favorite would have to be science!
